BERKEMANN ORIGINALS – ACTIVE MOVEMENT WITH WOODEN SOLES AND THE BERKEMANN ORIGINAL 5-PHASE FOOTBED

Berkemann originals are icons of the shoemaker’s art and influenced at least one generation because these models with wooden soles, whose roots stretch back to the 1950s, are the core of the Berkemann brand. At that time, the then expert for podiatry Prof. Thomsen, together with Berkemann, developed the gymnastic sandal with the original 5-phase footbed that is still in use today. It supports the natural shape of the foot and trains the foot and calf muscles at every step by stimulating and mobilizing the toe grip function. In addition, the shock-absorbing midsole featured in most models cushions the impact of every step, thus relieving joints.

NATURALLY SUSTAINABLE - POPLAR WOOD FROM EUROPEAN FORESTRY

The poplar wood used by Berkemann is a natural, rapidly renewable and therefore particularly sustainable natural raw material that also comes from European forestry. The particularly light poplar wood ensures carefree walking. Great side effect: The poplar wood keeps the feet warm when it is cold outside and pleasantly fresh when it is warm and sunny. All wooden soles go through the entire production process from milling the blanks to shape grinding, sole gluing, sole grinding, fine grinding and sealing in Berkemann's own wood production plant in Hungary, before they are turned into shoe models by our shoemakers with a great deal of craftsmanship in the main production plant, which is also located in Hungary.
