Clogs are slipper-like unisex shoes with a firm base, mostly made of wood.

Clogs developed from special work shoes with a wooden base. They originally come from England and found general distribution via Sweden. Originally, the upper cover, which is always closed at the front, was made of leather, linen, or raffia. Nowadays, upper parts are made of all possible materials; however, like at that time, they are still nailed laterally to the wooden sole. This simple, material-saving design makes clogs price-worthy shoes.
